Backup Backup Backup

The advent of the modern computer has been nothing short than a marvel. With the ability to browse the internet, listen to your iTunes music and print out that personalized note to aunt Edna (Yeah this was a stretch, but I thought I would mention Edna as she misses hearing from you 😊), the one thing that many people overlook is performing a file data backup from time to time.
With the growth of hard drive sizes, hard drives fail. Why not backup?
Luckily in this fast-paced society, there are several options available to the end user.
Among the data backup options, let’s go through a few really quickly:
- CD/DVD Backups – If your pc was built within the 5-7 couple of years, chances are you will either have a CD-Burner or a DVD-Burner. Saving Data to a CD is 700 MBs (Megabytes) and DVDs can hold 4.7 Gigs (Gigabytes) on a single disc.
- (Picture Here) Flash Drive – Flash Drives have become the norm for keeping a copy of your important documents/Pictures while on the go. These can range from 1-2 Gigs up to over 256+ Gigs on a single drive.
- Internet Backups – Most home-owners have access to Broadband including High-Speed Cable & DSL
While we gave you an extremely quick overview of data backup options, there are other options within the categories above. You will want to ask a few basic questions to determine the best option for you:
- If my data were lost tomorrow, what would I lose?
- Do you have irreplaceable pictures of family and friends that you’re not sure if they are truly saved or not?
- Do you know currently how your data is being backed up or is it even backed up currently?
If we had to guess, most customers do not know or have a backup plan in place. If your data were to be lost due to a hardware failure or accidental damage, how would you recover your precious memories? Well, Who’s Your Tech has you covered, we can go over the best option for you for backing up your important data to ensure you don’t lose those precious & important files.
